Betty Crocker -- A Cultural Icon
General Mills is a multi-dimensional food manufacturer who's diverse brands and products are instantly recognizable; none more so than Betty Crocker. Since the 1920's Betty Crocker has been the voice and the face of the "red spoon" brand, originally created to answer consumers' questions about baking and uses for their favorite Betty Crocker products. Once voted as the second most popular woman in the country (right behind Eleanor Roosevelt), there was in reality no real Betty Crocker. First drawn in 1936, a compilation of all the women working in General Mills' Home Service Department, her features have changed and been updated many times, reflecting changes in society and the Betty Crocker consumer.
Although Betty Crocker products are offered nationwide, we are pleased to carry some of the "harder to find" favorites online - Fluffy White Frosting Mix, Hamburger Helper casseroles and many more. Be sure to let us know if we need to add your favorite!
