Purchased by Nestle in 1988, The Willy Wonka Candy Company was created in 1971, coinciding with the release of the Gene Wilder movie, “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” based on the 1964 Roald Dahl novel. Many of the candy products were inspired by the movie, most notably the Wonka bar and its much coveted Golden Ticket. A number the original movie candies have been discontinued; current Wonka candies include Fun Dip, Laffy Taffy and Bottlecaps. Although Wonka is not a storied candy company with a nostalgic history, it is a touchstone for most children of the 70’s and 80’s and a widely recognized brand today.

The current crop of Willy Wonka candies features a complete line of Laffy Taffy, a chewy, fruity, stretchy bar of fun with a favorite joke printed on the wrapper. Willy Wonka Laffy Taffy has a much fruitier, tangy and distinct flavor than most of the taffy currently available. A favorite of kids and adults alike. Additionally, Sweetarts, Nerds and Fun Dip remain perennial Willy Wonka candy best sellers.
