For Mars bar lovers, the saga of the original Mars bar has been confusing at best. The original bar launched in 1932, consisted of plain nougat, whole almonds topped with caramel and coated in chocolate. This bar was discontinued in the 1980's, replaced by what is today called Snicker's Almond Bar. This is not that bar! Today's Mars bar has a lighter more chocolate tasting mousse/nougat center, topped by caramel and covered in chocolate. We love this Mars bar (women particularly seem to love this version), but you may have a difference childhood memory of a "Mars" bar. In production since 2002.
