Spring 2005 Newsletter

As we move swiftly toward the Ides of March (do they still read Julius Caesar in high school?) and the groundhog’s six weeks of winter comes to an end, can the sweet scents of spring be far behind?

We’ve so enjoyed serving all of you through the holidays this year, and we love to read your e-mails of teary-eyed grandparents, satisfied clients and beaming baby boomers who continue to enjoy our nostalgic and hard-to-find foods and candies year round.

But change is in the air and we’ve got some doozies for you this spring.

We receive many requests for more information on our products – where it came from, how long it’s been around and most frequently “what does that taste like anyway?”. We try to provide as much information as we can on the background of our products, but the taste issue is kind of up to you! To encourage
you to try some of the candies you may not be familiar with, this year we’re offering up a Candy of the Month on our home page. Click on the link to uncover some additional background information on a product you may not have tried, and best of all, special pricing to encourage you to throw a few in your cart.

We’ve also added a “save me some!” feature to our website. Sometimes, our “hard to find” products are even hard for us to find and sellouts do occur. To ensure your place in line for the next shipment, if a product is currently out of stock, you may click on the link shown and an e-mail will be sent to you as soon as your “hometown favorite” is back in stock.

As usual, lot’s of new favorites are scattered throughout our store. Flicks Chocolate Wafers (those of you from the West Coast remember these from Ghiradelli Chocolates), Henri's Dressings, Skor Baking Chips, Hunts Manwich BBQ Sloppy Joe, Old Faithful Bar…they’re all there. Be sure to let us know if we missing one of your favorites!

Last but not least, take a look at some of our fun Easter and Spring gift baskets. The Colorful Candy Wagon and Garden Wheel Barrel full of candies are two new additions that make great gifts for grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and even the over 35 “kids” on your list.

Hopping towards spring,

Colleen Chapin, Founder
