Although most of
us have enjoyed one of the mildest winter’s on record, it looks like
Mother Nature’s had the last laugh! As you snuggle in for these few
remaining weeks of winter, we thought we’d share with you a

Speaking
of best-seller’s, we’re often asked by both customers and the media
which of our “hard to find ”
products seem to be most popular. The answer changes with the
seasons, but right now you’re stocking up on Sweet-Touch Nee Tea
Bags, Kraft boxed Spaghetti Dinners, Habitant French-Canadian Pea
Soup and a wide assortment of candy (what are you doing with all
those Decade Boxes anyway?)!
Whenever
you visit Hometown Favorites, be sure to check out the link on our
Home Page to new products we’ve received; you might just stumble
across a favorite you thought was long out of production!
We’re
still working through your e-mail
requests
for new “old” favorites and you may notice that our “Boy, they were
good” listing is rapidly expanding. It seems that for every new
product we’ve added to inventory (based on customer requests) we’re
sad to add another to our “dead foods” graveyard.
|
As manufacturers
consolidate and join forces to form new, larger entities, some of
your favorite foods have become victims of these streamlined product
lines. We encourage you to contact these
manufacturers
directly to
voice your concerns.
Some
recent resurrections of discontin ued
products
include BB Bats,
Kits, Squirrel
Nut Chews
and Mint Julep
Taffy. We hear
the
rumblings of a new wave
of Bonomo’s
Turkish Taffy (we’ll keep you posted). You never
know when
enough of
y ou
may cause your favorite to resume production
(Do
you hear us
Durkee’s Pot
Roast people???).
As always, we’re having a great time supplying you with your
nostalgic favorites and we love to share your funny childhood candy
stories around the office. Keep ‘em coming!
‘Til the first robins of spring,
