1960's Candy
Many of us born in the 50’s actually spent our childhood in the 60’s, that decade of change and revolution. We may have been too young to understand what the evening news was telling us, but we loved our westerns, our dance crazes and our bubble gum music. 1960’s candies reflected this super sweet time, with over- the-top sugary delights.
1960’s candy indulged our curiosity for something different – Razzles, that combination of candy and gum. Flying Saucer candy , reflecting our burgeoning interest in outer space. Candy Blox, mimicking our addiction to all things Legos. And our everlasting love for peanut butter, never better interpreted than in a Clark bar.
No candy is more closely identified with the psychedelic 60’s than Fizzies – those effervescent fruit flavored tablets you dropped in water to make your own sparkling drink. This 60’s candy fad saw no end in sight. There was always someone in the gang brave enough to chew this tablet right up on a dare!
